Alan Grusby, ADM

Dr. Grusby has been working with soy protein ingredients in meat, dairy and bakery applications at ADM for over seventeen years. His expertise has taken him to processing facilities throughout North America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and more recently China, Russia, and The Former Soviet Union Republics, conducting seminars and processing demonstrations.

Previously he has held positions with the Sara Lee Food Company as Vice President of Technical Services and Director of Quality Assurance for Sara Lee Sausage, Jimmy Dean and Rudy’s Farm Country Sausage.

Dr. Grusby has held various positions in the Meat Industry for over thirty years beginning with slaughtering, working in processing and then finally further processed and cooked meats, sanitation, laboratory design and instrumentation and U.S.D.A and F.D.A. food regulations.

He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture and a Master of Science Degree in Meat Science from the University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida.

Dr. Grusby conducts seminars and processing demonstrations globally, illustrating the unique nature of soy protein ingredients and their ability to be utilized in a countless array of processing equipment and applications.

Recently, Dr. Grusby has returned to ADM Research on a full-time basis as Senior Scientist for Research and Development evaluating ADM’s potential utilizing fiber from our production of soy, corn, wheat and rice for human consumption, and other projects where his expertise can be beneficial.

He holds professional memberships at the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Institute of Food Technologists, the American Meat Science Association and the American Meat Institute where he represents industry on the Scientific Affairs Committee.
